What is DeFi?
Decentralised finance (also known as DeFi) is where a set of programmed rules (a smart contract) carries out a DeFi service through a collection of blockchain-based financial services, using automated workflows in order to make financial decisions.
DeFi services include borrowing, lending, insurance, trading, funding, and derivatives.
DeFi services operate by first gathering data from blockchains and then acting on that data according to smart contract rules.
Blockchain is a type of database that lets users to see, access, and verify the data they add. Blockchains distribute data over a network of computers known as nodes. Data on the blockchain is immutable because to this decentralised node architecture. Nobody can change data after it’s been placed on the blockchain.
Blockchains may store logistical data as well as financial transaction information. Furthermore, material stored on a blockchain is readily accessible. This eliminates the problems that come with paper-based methods.
A smart contract is a type of computer programme that performs tasks based on whether or not particular economic conditions are met. A smart contract can be compared to a vending machine. When money is inserted into the machine, it produces a soda. The concept of smart contracts is based on the principle of person-free economic exchange.
Our mission at Piptle Agency is to allow people to decentralise the financing of their properties – which takes all the fees associated with going through the big banks out of the transaction, and allows people who weren’t previously able to afford to access Real Estate services to take part in a platform where they can invest in property and become a part of the previously exclusive Real Estate Investors industry.
What influence might DeFi have on real estate?
DeFi is a new venture with the potential to have far-reaching implications for the entire financial industry. Decentralized applications (or DApps) already exist in a wide range of forms, and property owners, developers, investors, lenders, and others can choose to participate in them as they see fit. A few categories stand out in the real estate industry.
DeFi has the potential to change real estate if traditional financial institutions such as lenders, insurers, and brokerages increasingly give way to decentralised alternatives.
